Support
Help with Cimilar, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right.
Contact us
Email us about anything: questions, problems, feedback or a report.
If you’re in danger, contact local emergency services now. Cimilar support is email-only and can’t respond to emergencies.
Please don’t send passwords or other sensitive information by email.
If someone makes you uncomfortable
You can act from the ⋯ menu on any public card:
- Hide for now keeps that profile out of your Nearby list until you turn Nearby off.
- Block this profile hides that card, and cards that closely match it, for up to 12 months. Because Cimilar has no accounts, someone who changes their card completely may appear again, and blocking can’t stop them seeing your public card while you’re nearby.
- Report this profile prepares an email to us with the card’s public details. You see everything before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
You can also turn Nearby off at any time, and leave if you feel unsafe.
Common questions
I can’t see anyone nearby
- Check that Nearby is on and that Bluetooth is turned on for your phone.
- Check that Cimilar is allowed to use Bluetooth in your phone’s Settings.
- Keep Cimilar open. Nearby pauses when you switch to another app or lock your phone, and resumes when you come back.
- The other person needs Cimilar open with Nearby on too. Bluetooth range varies with the device and surroundings, such as walls and crowds.
Who can see my profile?
Only your public card is shared, and only while Nearby is on. Cards are self-provided and not verified, so only add what you’re happy for people around you to see.
Can I delete my profile?
Yes. Your profile is saved on your phone, and you can edit or delete it at any time in the app.
How is my data handled?
See the Privacy Policy.
